Hemp Seed Hearts

These are amazing. They are high in protein, healthy fats, and vitamins such as Omega 3 and 6. They have a faint nutty taste to them, and add texture to oatmeal, yogurt, salads and smoothies. I sprinkle these on my breakfast every morning. Definitely a fave.

 Chia Seeds

These are like a miracle seed. They are hydrating, high in protein, high in fiber, Omega 3’s, and antioxidants (just to name a few). They are great egg substitutes, and create awesome puddings!

Rice Protein Powder

Since I am allergic to legumes, I can’t use any protein powder that has soy, pea protein, or nuts. I opt for this rice protein powder. I really love the nutrition facts on this one. 1 heaping scoop has only 60 calories, 1 gram of sugar, and 13 grams of protein. Not only are the numbers great, but it tastes really wonderful.

Sunflower Seed Butter

If you have allergies, this stuff is amazing. I pretty much live on the stuff. It’s nut free and high in protein and healthy fats.

Buckwheat Groats (Kasha)

I’ve been really into buckwheat groats lately. “Kasha” is the toasted version. It’s got a beautifully nutty flavor, and a chewy texture. They are gluten free, low calorie and high in fiber. I usually eat them for breakfast :

Apple Pie Buckwheat Groats

 Peaches and Cream Overnight Groats

Cacao Nibs

These are the raw form of chocolate. They’ve got a bitter taste

Raw cacao is a great source of antioxidants and magnesium. It is also high in fiber and iron.

They are great in home made trail mixes,

yogurt, cereals, and baked goods!

 Cacao Powder

Love Chocolate? I DO! Add 2 1/2 TBS to yogurt or smoothies to make it a chocolate treat.

Use it to make Chocolate Mousse Bites

Blackberry Mocha Quinoa Pancakes

Hot Chocolate Breakfast Cereal

My favorite zero calorie Natural Sweetener. I use it in Coffee, oatmeal, baked goods, and anything that needs sweetening up!

Spirulina, a blue green algae, is like the super hero of superfoods.  First of all, the stuff has got a crazy long shelf life. It’s full of vitamins and minerals and is a great source of vegetarian protein. It aids in digestion, is a serious immune system booster.

Quinoa is my go to grain. It is high in protein and fiber which will help to keep you full and satisfied! Quinoa has a delightful nutty flavor and can be used in a million different dishes. lately I have even been eating it for breakfast!!! If you haven’t already, GET INTO QUINOA!

Nutritional Yeast

I’m obsessed with Nutritional Yeast. It is an amazing parmesan cheese substitute and is packed with vitamins and nutrients. It’s gluten free, vegan and salt free.
